Design and Display Quality
New camera styling makes the OnePlus 11 stand out in a crowd
The OnePlus 11 is clearly an evolution of the OnePlus 10 Pro design, and while the two look similar, you can also clearly tell them apart.

The camera system on the OnePlus 11 is now placed in a round glass element for a look that resembles a traditional camera. We love this look! Both phones have the Hasselblad branding on the camera front and center.

Apart from that, though, these two are quite similar: curved sides, aluminum frame, glass back.

The screen is also the same size: 6.7" OLED screen on both, running at up to 120Hz and as you'd expect on a flagship it's an LTPO screen with dynamic refresh rate.

The big gains in the OnePlus 11 revolve around the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, a huge upgrade over the previous Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip on the 10 Pro.

While the 10 Pro was a fast phone, we remember the report of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip getting just a bit too hot and requiring some severe throttling.

With better power efficiency, improved cooling and a bunch of new features for gaming, the OnePlus 11 definitely caters to the gaming crowd and won't disappoint.

Coupled with 8GB of faster, LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of again faster UFS 4.0 storage in even the base model, this phone is an absolute beast. And you can also step up to 16GB of RAM, super impressive.

Performance Benchmarks:
This new Snapdragon chip will also come with a more powerful integrated 5G modem that should help you get more solid 5G reception.

Camera
Some strange camera choices
Both the OnePlus 11 and the OnePlus 10 Pro come with a triple camera system with a wide, an ultra-wide and a telephoto zoom cameras.

While the wide and the ultra-wide cameras are similar, the telephoto camera on the OnePlus 11 provides 2X zoom, shorter than the 3.3X zoom lens on the 10 Pro.

This is not a bad thing, though. 2X is the perfect focal length for portrait mode photos, which are the focus on this newer phone. We love this improvement!

The OnePlus 11 also uses a brand new sensor for its main camera. The sensor in question is the Sony IMX890, an improved version of the IMX766, which happens to be used on a bunch of phones like the Huawei Mate 50 Pro, OnePlus 10T, Asus ROG Phone 6, and others.

In comparison, the OnePlus 10 Pro uses the 48MP Sony IMX789 sensor for the main camera, and that sensor is actually a bit larger than the one on the OnePlus 11

On the video front, both phones to support up to 8K video resolution.

We will be updating this article with photo and video samples as soon as we test the two phones, so stay tuned for that.

Audio Quality and Haptics

The OnePlus 11 surprises us with improved speakers too, which sound louder and cleaner.

It's a dual speaker setup like on the 10 Pro, with a main bottom-firing loudspeaker and then a secondary speaker in the earpiece, only improved.

Neither of these phones has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

As for haptic feedback, the OnePlus 10 Pro has been great with nice and tight vibration, but the OnePlus 11 takes this to the next level with what it calls "the king of Android motors". This new haptic motor can provide delicate feedback for typing while guaranteeing you won't miss calls and notifications. It is also the first of its kind to deliver "double vibration", which will be useful in games.

Battery Life and Charging
Same battery size, but will battery life be the same too?

Both the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 10 Pro come with the same size 5,000mAh battery inside.

This means that battery life should not be too different, but do keep in mind that the OnePlus 11 is coming with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is more power-efficient, and a newer generation of OLED screen technology could give it a bit of leverage in the battery department.

We will be running our independent battery tests on these phones and will show you the exact difference soon, so check back here in a while.

PhoneArena Battery Test Results:
In terms of charging, the OnePlus 10 Pro was a bit weird because the global version would charge at 80W, while the US version would only support 65W charging speeds.

The international version of the OnePlus 11, however, does come with the faster 80W wired charging speeds.

Both phones come with a charger in the box, and do keep in mind that OnePlus uses a proprietary technology to reach those higher charging speeds (called SUPERVOOC), so you need a OnePlus charger to get the best charging speeds.

Interestingly, the OnePlus 11 loses the wireless charging support, a feature that was available on the 10 Pro.

Specs Comparison

And here is an overview of the specs differences between the OnePlus 11 and the OnePlus 10 Pro:
Summary

The OnePlus 11 drops the Pro name, but it remains a solid flagship with a focus on performance and fast charging speeds. If you are a gamer or just someone who wants a super fast phone, this will be a great choice.

We are curious about the new camera. The 2X zoom lens is one we love for portraits, but a longer range zoom would have been very nice.

With faster speeds, charging and innovations with audio and haptics, the OnePlus 11 is a nice upgrade over the 10 Pro, and if OnePlus prices it right, it could be a good alternative to Galaxies and Pixels, but it will be an uphill battle for OnePlus, especially considering how affordable and good those other phones have become.
